Bernard Roth EE

Bernard Roth, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, joined the Barney Roth Company in 1954 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Over the course of his 55 years, Mr. Roth has developed the company's strategic plan, leading the management team in its execution of the unique business model. His own personal integrity is the penultimate character and leadership trait that the entire company strives to emulate. Active in charitable work, over the course of his life and now, Mr. Roth continues his philanthropy through active board membership in Federation Housing and the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center. He is a past President of the Golden Slipper Charity and Member Emeritus of the Illuminating Engineering Society. In 1985 Mr. Roth was honored with the Engineer of the Year award from his alma mater, the Pennsylvania Military College, now Widener University.

Fod Vick CLMC

Fod Vick is the Principal and President of Philadelphia Lighting Maintenance Company. He joined the Barney Roth Company in 1970 with a Master's Degree in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University. Fod is a lifelong member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, Past President of the Electrical Association of Philadelphia. Mr. Vick serves on the Board of Directors of the nationally renowned retail-service cooperative, PLASMA, and is a former board member of NALMCO, the National Association of Lighting Management Companies. Fod has been actively engaged in lighting design, lighting management, and energy conservation with his 33 years experience and expertise as a Certified Lighting Management Consultant. He is widely recognized throughout the country for his solution-based approach to lighting management, providing consultation for leading retailers, educational institutions, banks, and REITs.

Shawn McCarthy

Shawn McCarthy is the Director of Operations for the Barney Roth Company, joining the firm in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in Management and Marketing from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. Throughout his 25 years tenure, Shawn has developed and maintained the Mid-Atlantic's longest tenured Lighting Maintenance crew with his keen attention to detail and uncompromising devotion to quality. As the company's Purchasing Manager Shawn garnered encyclopedic knowledge of lighting and its myriad components and is now the regional go-to expert for answers to hard to solve lighting issues. McCarthy is an active member of many organizations, most notably, the Mayfair Civic Association where he lends countless hours to neighborhood causes.

Randall Hawkes

Randall Hawkes is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Barney Roth Company, joining the company in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Organizational Behavior, from Widener University. Coming from two decade's service in Facilities Operations in New England's tough retail sector, he relocated in 1991 to the Philadelphia region to oversee facility remodels and quickly recognized the Philadelphia Lighting Maintenance division of the Barney Roth Company as his key regional vendor. Hawkes melded his formal training with his 28-year project management and trades experience to grow the company's Projects Division into a nimble team. As the leader of the Energy Efficient Lighting division, Hawkes navigates the company through the new Green Economy, while leading the sales force and developing marketing and business plans for increasing company revenue. Hawkes is a highly sought-after resource on all matters energy-efficient-lighting, holding regular seminars for the business community in partnership with local Chambers of Commerce. Recipient of Employer of the Year for the Montgomery County ARC in 1995, Hawkes also volunteers time coaching youth sports and currently serves on the Widener University Scholarship Board and the Widener Fund.

Arleen Kowalski

Arleen Kowalski is the Office Operations and Human Resources Manager of the Barney Roth Company. Joining the company in 1982 as a part time File Clerk she has held every office position in the firm, advancing to her current role where she ensures quality in all facets of the company from billing, to safety, to computer operations, and unmatched customer service. Kowalski is a civic activist and leader in her hometown, serving as a key member of the Bridesburg Neighborhood Association.

David Sands

David Sands is the Electrical manager of the Barney Roth Company who started with the firm as a laborer in 1977. Now a fully Licensed Electrician, David is the firm's Estimator and Troubleshooter for all projects and special quotations. As the company's first responder when catastrophic electrical events occur in the region, David has earned his stellar reputation with long hours and unflagging commitment to getting the job done. A true artisan in his craft, David is certified in various manufacturers' warrantee divisions, most notably as the Lutron Company's product Quality Commissioner for new installations. David lends his trade experience to his town's local high school as the scenery advisor to the theatrical club.

Kate Xibos

Kate Xibos is the Controller of the Barney Roth Company, who earned the trusted position after providing unmatched dedication to accounts receivables and payables since her arrival in 1999. Xibos oversees and maintains all vendor accounts and monitors the company's overall financial operations.

Timothy Wallace

Timothy Wallace is the Service Manager of the Barney Roth Company and is the Manager of Capital Projects. Tim joined the firm in 2002 as a part-time after school associate while attending Northeast Catholic High School for Boys. Over the course of his 8 years experience, Tim has brought his energy, intelligence, and creativity to the multi-faceted Service Divisions where he has grown into a trusted leader of the Service and Technical Lighting crews. Tim is currently pursuing his post-secondary degree in nighttime and weekend studies at an accredited local college.
